BoostBridge® Batteryless UPS Product Family

BoostBridge® Short Term Ride-Through Batteryless UPS & Power Conditioning Units; 5kVA to 20kVA Models

Functionality
The TEAL BoostBridge® product family is an innovative line of power subsystems that utilize a batteryless UPS for short-term ride through of an electrical power outage or brown-out. The BoostBridge® products are based on an ultra-high reliability inverter section with an ultracapacitor based energy storage system that requires minimal maintenance over the life of the product. They also include a high reliabilty charging/discharging system for the ultracapacitors, and typically include a transformer for input voltage selection & conversion integrated into a compact rackmount package with a number of distribution and control options.

These Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) power sources offer a clean power source protected against common mode noise, transients, and harmonics. Capable of operating from most worldwide line voltages, the TEAL BoostBridge® is ideally suited for systems requiring a short-term electrical mains ride-through capability, such as when switching from your main power source to a back-up generator. The BoostBridge® is also configurable as a modular portable system that meets 2-man lift requirements in the TEAL Global-GUARDIAN® framework.

BoostBridge® products come in standard power conditioner sizes of 5kVA, 10kVA, and 20kVA with either a 120/208VAC or 277/480VAC output. All models may be modified to provide special voltage requirements and custom controls and interfaces for both input and output.

Features & Benefits
- 20kVA System Ride-Through Profile - 20 second power ride-through:
     5 seconds at 100% rated power
     10 seconds at 50% rated power (Unit Under Test shutdown period)
     5 seconds at 20% rated power (Station shutdown period)
- Universal input voltage (200VAC to 480VAC), 50/60Hz, allows system to be installed virtually anywhere in the world & reduces wiring costs.
- Dual conversion topology isolates input from output & provides the highest level of common-mode noise rejection. Reduces transients and electrical noise disturbances across a broad frequency spectrum, mitigates line transient problems typical in field & at depot level operations, and improves the MTBF of your system.
- Energy storage system consists of BOOSTCAP® ultracapacitor modules (from Maxwell Technologies) for long life and low maintenance (over 1M duty cycles).
- Rackmount design reduces installed cost ($ per square foot). Optional modular portable packaging in the TEAL Global-GUARDIAN® framework.
- Either 120/208VAC or 277/480VAC ouputs standard, other optional output voltages available.
- Simplification of installations by allowing plug and play setup.
- Single point power & grounding eliminates ground loops & provides clean power during development & setup of noise sensitive systems.
