TEALtrak® Voltage Regulation

The TEALtrak® Voltage Regulator product is a high-reliability dual-conversion power-conditioning device that is designed to regulate and stabilize three-phase AC voltage sources.

The TEALtrak® Voltage Regulator product line is based on an industrial voltage regulator unit that is integrated with our ultra high reliability isolation transformer based product for applications or installations that require a stabilized voltage source.

The TEALtrak® unit is an active microprocessor controlled device that converts the incoming mains AC into DC, then inverts and tightly regulates the DC back into a clean, filtered and stable AC source. The regulated AC is then coupled with filtering, surge suppression, and a TEAL isolation transformer (for voltage conversion, distribution, and single-point grounding) to make a complete power conditioning package.

TEALtrak® Benefits:

  • Protects the customers electronic equipment from damaging or disruptive voltage sags, swells, spikes, and transients including Power Factor Correction (PFC) transients induced by the facility or utility.
  • Sub-Cycle response enables correction of line voltage during transient events.
  • High peak power capability ideal for driving switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) or non-linear loads.
  • Continuous voltage regulation eliminates the step-changes in voltage associated with old-style tap-switching voltage regulators, reducing noise and errors in the image.

    TEALtrak® Features:

  • Standard units for power ranges of 30kVA to 150kVA.
  • Standard output voltage regulation of +/-5% with an input voltage of +10% to –20% from nominal.
  • Rugged industrialized continuous voltage regulation with no discrete step changes or double-tapping.
  • Sub-cycle (<4ms) response time to help correct fast transients on the AC mains without overshoot.
  • Frequency stabilization and correction with high power conversion efficiency (>85%) at full load.
  • High reliability dual-conversion technology converts the mains AC to DC then inverts back to a tightly regulated AC, eliminating the typical failures of the old-style tap-switching voltage regulator.
  • Uses rugged industrial microprocessor controlled motor drive controller as the core “engine”.
  • Meets IEC 801-2 for Electromagnetic Emissions.
  • Controls include ON/OFF, Emergency Power OFF (activated through a Shunt-Trip with customer accessible contacts), and BYPASS of Voltage Regulator section that allows the mains AC to be diverted to the load even in the unlikely event of a voltage regulator failure.
  • Indicators include Power “ON” and “OUT OF SPEC” with customer accessible dry contacts for each.

    TEALtrak® Electrical Specifications:

  • Model Name - TEALtrak-XXX-Y-Z, where XXX is 030, 050, 080, 110, or 150 for nominal output power in kVA, Y is either H or L for 480VAC or 208/240VAC DELTA nominal input voltage, respectively, and Z is either H or L for 277/480VAC or 120/208VAC WYE nominal output voltage, respectively
    Example: TEALtrak-080-H-L is an 80kVA rated unit with 480VAC nominal input voltage and 120/208VAC nominal rated output voltage.
  • Power Rating - 30, 50, 80, 110, or 150kVA continuous
  • Voltage Regulation - Standard output voltage regulation of +/-5% with an input voltage of +10% to –20% from nominal
  • Response Time - <4ms (Continuous Sub-Cycle Regulation)
  • Efficiency - >85% at full load
  • Overload Protection - Main input circuit breaker programmable, factory preset to appropriate current setting
  • Controls - ON/OFF, Emergency Power OFF (activated through a Shunt-Trip with customer accessible contacts in PCDU), and BYPASS of Voltage Regulator section (allowing equipment to continue operating from mains voltage without the active Voltage Regulation function
  • Indicators - Power “ON” (green LED) and “OUT OF SPEC” (red LED) with customer accessible dry contacts for each
  • Dimensions - Customizable, example 80kVA size: 65.0” tall x 37.0” wide x 27.0” deep
  • Mounting - Seismic brackets can be installed on each side panel (includes casters and leveling legs)
