TEALwave® Patented Electrical FilteringIn a TEAL power subsystem, one valuable component is the patented TEALwave® high-energy shunt-connected low-pass filter. In a typical 3-phase TEAL power subsystem, the low-pass filtering is designed to reduce or eliminate intermediate and high-frequency noise (10kHz to 10MHz) that can often be damaging and disruptive to the customer’s equipment or processes.
TEAL's patented modular TEALwave® high
performance filters installed
The TEALwave® filter is an excellent way to remove electrical noise and spikes that would otherwise get through to the customer’s system, possibly causing disruptive power glitches (lost data, system resets, high signal-to-noise ratio, etc.) or even damaging events (damaged PCBs or Power Supplies, etc.). The TEALwave® high-energy filter can be a valuable component addition and a low-cost insurance policy against excess electrical noise. To graphically show the additional benefit of the TEALwave® filter in a 3-phase system with a standard TEAL isolation transformer, the typical TEALwave® filter frequency response is shown in below compared to a typical TEAL 3-phase transformer without the added benefit of the TEALwave® filter.

performance into normalized load.
For the majority of 3-phase applications, the TEALwave® filtering will limit an ANSI/IEEE Standard C62.41 6000V 3000A Category B Impulse applied at the input to a maximum of 40V let-through above the sine wave peak. The TEALwave® filter design can also be cascaded for improved performance for the most critical applications that require extreme filtering.
